Hi! I'm kind of stoked to do this. It's been a while since I've participated in Yuletide (last time was 2012?!) and I'm glad that I was able to finally remember to nominate and sign up this year.

brandnewsoul. Linking mostly so you can kind of get a sense of what my... vibe is? I write generally light-hearted or fun stuff, but I'm not opposed to something dramatic and/or angsty, see prompts for more details. I'm here for fun and the occasional emotional devastation, pretty much.
With that said: let's get to my requests! A minor spoiler for Legendborn is here, but that's about it.
Puppet History (Web Series)
HOW DID THE PROFESSOR END UP CURSED BY THIS GENIE? The big question. Along with WHY CAN'T RYAN WIN?
I'm thinking at some point maybe Ryan attempts to pry The Professor to get a win, and the story comes slowly out. How Ryan gets to this point, I don't know. Sneaking to get the History Master cup and then he hears a voice say "I wouldn't do that if I were you?" Go wild from there, friend.
Legendborn - Tracy Deonn
Initially I thought that I'd be 100% for Nick but then Selwyn swerved in, admitting that he has/had (it's has, let's be real) feelings for Nick. And then he's slowly realizing he MIGHT have feelings for Bree, as exhibited from calling her "cariad" at the end of the book, which is Welsh for "love". That said: going with everything there, I'd most like something based around that part when Sel gets Bree and Nick alone for a moment. Give me that processing feelings dump.
My Most Excellent Year - Steve Kluger
Five Old Movies/Old Songs That Augie Tried to Get TC Into, and the One That Ale Tried (That Stuck).
I love everyone's friendship/relationship in this bunch. I also like that while TC might not get the things that make his best friend/brother tick, he's supportive. But surely, over the course of a lifetime I feel like more often than not Augie presented him with something that made him go, "..." I'd like to see Ale be able to pin down the one old school thing that he'd adore. If we go with the traditional old movie route, maybe something with Paul Newman? Or The Great Escape, which she finds obnoxious (there weren't Americans in that camp!) but he loves because of Steve McQueen as The Cooler King?
Teenage Love Triangle Trilogy - folklore
I think I'd be most interested in this from the POV of Inez. She seems like she's the one who knows all three members of this triangle, the one who'd be most likely to still be gossiping about their whole sordid thing at their high school reunion. So maybe something like this: Inez witnessing August (the narrator) and James going off together, being sworn to secrecy but letting it come out to Betty because she's not the best at keeping a secret. Then maybe Betty's gone for the summer so Inez is her only point of contact and she keeps her friend updated the whole time. It could be interesting to see this play out in/around the late 90s or so--or even now, with Inez's dispatches coming through social media.
