I am so going to study in a few minutes, seriously.

I actually bought something from American Eagle. Good Lord.

See, I have an aversion to the Holy Trinity of "Prep" Stores (Abercrombie, American Eagle, and Hollister), because frankly, I don't trust any store that has "extra small" as a size. But I've been wanting a striped long-sleeve rugby shirt, and wouldn't you know it, American Eagle had them. So I went in and grabbed one, and leafed through the girls' clothes some, even though I knew there'd be nothing in my size. The highest size in jeans is a 14, and the shirts only go up to large (and I was all "I KNEW IT!"), but according to the dressing rooms, the site sizes go up to my range. Perhaps I'm just skeptical, because I'm secretly convinced that those companies (well, okay, maybe a LOT of clothes companies) have it out for any girl who is overendowed in the hip and chest area. But maybe I'm just paranoid. But anyway: I got my yellow and blue striped rugby shirt, and it was on sale too. Yay.

But I still don't like American Eagle.

(Well, I like guys who wear the clothes, for reasons I cannot explain, but I don't like the store itself. Does that make sense?)

I was deleting a bunch of LJ reply notifications and accidentally marked them as "spam" in my Yahoo Mail account, so I'm not getting any of my replies. ARRRRGH MUST FIX THIS GEEZ.

When I did my report for computer science about blogging, I read this book that said that one of the ways to get traffic is to A.) focus on a certain topic and B.) have a catchy title. So I've been going back and forth between actually doing the whole pop culturey discussion stuff thing over here again or just leaving my journal as is, a split between real-life junk and entertainment things with more of a focus on real life or whatever. But, well, I don't know. And as for the title... I don't remember how long I've had this one. I used to change it fairly often, but for some reason I like it. I don't know where the idea of she's the girl most likely exactly came from (or exactly how long that's been the title, maybe since like, June/July or so?), but for some reason it fits. And I'd like to get more readers but at the same time, I like things the way they are for me.

Okay, rambling now.

And seriously, I'm going to start studying at 3:30, even though it's cramming and my brain will explode. Everyone pray I do well on this government exam, because Lord knows I need to. I got two crap grades on tests, two decent grades (80-somethings), and pretty good grades on my reports. But I must must must ace the exam--which is comprehensive. Damn.

Yeah that makes sense since the guys clothes in those types of store's aren't so short they show off a guy's ass. I mean yeah that's a shame, but I can't believe how short they make some skirts. The only reason I even go into those stores is for the purse's and other accessories as I don't come close to fitting into the clothes. I got a really cute pink corduroy purse at Aeropostle last month.

I haaate stores that have like XXXXS-S and that's it. Or stores whose larges wouldn't fit a 7-year-old. Like, could we maybe NOT spread the twisted belief that extra small = normal?

AE is the best for larger sizes. It's actually pretty good -- like Old Navy if you get what I mean. I always get a larger size online if I can't find it at the store. I always need a larger size for my tops because my boobs are bigger.

I do love AE though cause I can get good stuff for a good price. I don't shop at Abercrombie much. The only things I've ever gotten were a hoodie, a beanie, and a bag. The bag being my favorite. I like Hollister guys clothes a lot more than girls. I'll always buy their guys shirts. :D

I don't like those stores either, but it's not the sizes, it's the prices. Paying a lot for clothes is OK if it's something, you know, unique-looking. But at those stores it's all such BASIC stuff and they charge such exorbitant amounts for it.

But see, you got your shirt on sale, so that makes it better. =)

i derive a certain pride from being able to say that the only thing i have that's american eagle is a little black canvas purse, which i bought for $9 at marshalls XD

some of the preppy stores' clothes are really cute, but you can get the same things for cheaper at target usually. and i totally feel you on sizes. i hate when i see XS and XXS (even at target), but nothing above an L. my mom always says it could be because someone bought all the XL-and-aboves and they haven't restocked yet, lol.
remember the long sleeve shirts with asian dragons down the sleeves? those were popular in like 1998, at least at my school. i think they originally came from abercrombie and fitch, but i got mine at target, and i still have it :)

Being someone who has to wear what has been deemed "plus-sized" clothing (which seems to be anything over a size 14 these days!) I can understand how you feel about the size issue. Even the stores that claim to carry plus-sized clothing don't carry anything over a 24, and I think we can all agree there are more people out there that are a larger size than that. It's almost disciminatory!

And as for the journal thing, I like reading your journal for what it is. It's good to know a little personal info with the entertainment stuff. I can understand wanting to get more readers, too. I have a website that is supposed to be a community forum, but the members I have on there don't seem to want to post that often and I'm not getting any new ones. I'm not sure if focusing on one topic will actually increase the number of readers or not, but if you can somehow get more exposure, that might help? Just a thought.
